Communique n 2
GIVEN the massive invasion of the
GIVEN that, the enemy invaded Somali territory with thousand of troops, tanks, fighter jets and heavy military armour.
GIVEN that, the enemy has introduced a state of emergency in order to carry on his deceptive plans of terror, massacre of the defenseless civilian population (murder, secret executions, lootings, imprisonment, rape and plundering etc).
GIVEN that, the invasion of Ethiopian army would not have been possible without the green light and the full support of the
GIVEN that, in addition to the above-mentioned support, the United States have deliberately bombarded and destroyed entire villages to the ground in the southern parts of Somalia, resulting the lost of hundreds of livestock that the livelihood of entire communities depended upon. These attacks has no regards what so ever to human lives .
Given that the world Super Power deliberately decided unilaterally to bring back the chaos and the spiral of violence of the previous warlords after a brief moment of relief.
GIVEN that the Bush administration’s decision to resolve any crisis with the blow of the fist had resulted to further any prospect of stability and peace while opening the door to the extension of the conflict and the explosion of the Horn.
For the reasons of all above-mentioned statements, we Somali Canadians living in the capital of Canada, Ottawa, have decided this day of January 13, 2007, after an assembly to launch an appeal to:
I. The United Nations, European, the Arab League, Union African Union, The Organization of the Islamic Conference and to the international community a and the peace-loving people of the whole world to intervene for an immediate and unconditional cessation of:
- The presence of the Ethiopian forces inside the
- The bombardments and naval blockade of the Somali coast line by the
- The imposed current emergency state, the violations of the human rights, the violations of the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of the

Whatever the current circumstances are in this critical moment of our history, we are confident that it ‘s a temporary one that we will overcome as has been shown in similar situation in the past to recover our freedom, dignity and honor as a nation God willing.
